CAMPAIGN FOR NEW COLORADO ELECTION SYSTEM

RELEASES FIRST TV AD

DENVER, Colorado – The campaign backing an Initiative for Colorado’s fall ballot to adopt a new election to end hyper-polarization and elect more candidates from the radical center released its first television ad Monday.

“Our campaign is built on wide-spread voter disgust with our current crop of politicians, and this ad illustrates perfectly the contrast between what we’re stuck with now and the promise of a new election system that puts more bridge-builders and problem solvers in office,” campaign director Ryan Ross said.

The ad is available online on the campaign’s “Change Politics Now” You-Tube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v_qUAjLWtU

The ad features Coloradans voicing their disappointment with politics, and their plea that “democracy has gotta be revised.”

The campaign has won approval from ballot regulators to circulate petitions to place on the ballot a new election system that would result in the election of far more problem-solving candidates. Its proposal would abolish taxpayer funded primary elections, and replace them with a two-stage election system in which every voter could vote for any  candidate on the ballot in their district, regardless of their or the candidate’s party affiliation.

Details of the proposal are at the campaign’s web site: changepoliticsnow.org

The campaign’s Facebook page is at “Change Politics Now.”
